1. Introduction & Acceptance
Welcome to MemoUS. By creating an account or using this app, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app. These terms apply to all users of the app.
2. AI-Generated Content — Not Medical Advice
All AI-generated content in MemoUS — including behavioral assessments, personality profiles, developmental insights, tips, reports, and life stories — is for informational and personal use only.
MemoUS's AI does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. AI-generated content is based on observations you log and general developmental knowledge. It is NOT a substitute for professional medical advice from a qualified pediatrician, psychologist, therapist, or other healthcare provider.
Always consult a qualified professional for any concerns about your child's health, development, or behavior. Never delay seeking professional help based on information provided by MemoUS.
3. Clinical Flags — Informational Only
MemoUS may generate "clinical flags" as part of AI-generated profiles. These flags are informational observations only — NOT a clinical diagnosis; based on patterns in logged data — NOT a professional assessment; and intended to prompt conversation with a professional — NOT to alarm parents.
Clinical flags do NOT indicate that your child has any condition, disorder, or developmental delay. Only a qualified healthcare professional can make a diagnosis.
4. Photo Storage
Photos you add in Memories and memos are uploaded to Google Firebase Cloud Storage (encrypted in transit and at rest) and linked to your account. We also cache copies on your device for faster viewing and offline use.
You are responsible for keeping your own backups (e.g. saving to your device photo library). MemoUS is not liable for loss due to account deletion, device loss, or sync failures.
Memo photos attached to activity logs may include thumbnail URLs visible in your own journal and to any co-parent you have granted access.
5. Children's Privacy & COPPA Compliance
MemoUS is designed for parents and caregivers to log observations about children in their care. We take children's privacy extremely seriously. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
Data about children:
- Children do NOT create accounts or use the app directly
- All data is entered by parents/caregivers (adults)
- Children's data is linked to the parent's account only
- We do NOT knowingly collect data directly from children under 13
Parent controls:
- You control all data about your child
- You can delete your child's data at any time (see Section 14)
- You control who (co-parents and family viewers) can access your child's information
- All access grants are revocable by the parent at any time
MemoUS complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and applicable data protection laws.
6. Co-parent & Family Viewer Access
MemoUS lets a parent invite another parent or caregiver to a specific child. At invite time you choose a role:
- Co-parent — may view and contribute to that child's records (such as memos, wellbeing logs, memories, and photos) according to the permissions you grant
- Family Viewer — a more limited invite, typically browse plus reactions and comments, without adding memos, photos, or wellbeing logs unless you later expand their permissions
Both roles use the same invite and access controls. Family Viewer is not a separate sharing system.
Parent controls all access:
- Invitations are always initiated and controlled by the primary parent
- Access and permissions can be changed or revoked by the primary parent at any time
- An invitee's access is limited to the child they were invited to, and to the permissions the primary parent grants
- Inviting someone to one child does not grant access to your other children
You are responsible for choosing whom you invite. MemoUS is not responsible for how an invitee uses the information you have chosen to share with them.
7. Data Storage — Firebase & Google
MemoUS uses Google Firebase to store account information, activity logs, wellbeing logs, AI profiles, and milestones. By using MemoUS, you acknowledge that your data is processed and stored by Google Firebase.
Firebase Privacy Policy
Google Privacy Policy
MemoUS uses Firebase Authentication, Firestore Database, and related Google services. Data is stored in secure Google Cloud servers.
8. AI Processing — Google Gemini
MemoUS uses Google Gemini on our servers to generate developmental insights, profile narratives, daily reflections, life story text, and optional voice transcription. Processing runs when you save memos and when server features rebuild your profile — not only when you tap a separate "generate" button.
Memo text, optional audio, and child first name or age context may be sent to Google Gemini for processing. We do not send your account email or password to Gemini. See Google Gemini Terms.
9. Pricing & Subscriptions
MemoUS is free to use, with usage limits on captured memos, photos, and Ask AI messages, and one child profile. MemoUS Premium removes these limits and unlocks premium features, including illustrated Life Story chapters, enriched constellation cards, deeper AI-generated insight, print-quality exports, and up to 5 child profiles.
MemoUS Premium is offered as an auto-renewing subscription through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store:
- Monthly: $9.99, billed monthly
- Annual: $79.99, billed yearly, including a 14-day free trial
Prices are shown in the app and may vary by region or currency. Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions automatically renew for the same period unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to that date. Free trials convert automatically to a paid subscription unless cancelled before the trial ends.
You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your Apple ID or Google Play account settings. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google according to their respective policies. We may change subscription pricing or introduce new plans with notice; changes do not apply retroactively to an active billing period.
10. Your Responsibilities
By using MemoUS, you agree to:
- Provide accurate information about your child
- Keep your account credentials secure
- Use the app only for its intended purpose — tracking your own child's development
- Not share your account with others
- Not attempt to access other users' data
- Consult a professional for any health or developmental concerns
- Back up your photos independently — MemoUS is not responsible for data loss
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, MemoUS shall not be liable for loss of data, photos, or logs; decisions made based on AI-generated content; service interruptions or technical failures; or any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
MemoUS is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or by email. Continued use of MemoUS after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
13. Contact Us

14. Account Deletion & Data Removal
MemoUS provides three different ways to remove data. They are not the same:
Archive child (Home screen): Hides a child profile from your active list. This is a soft hide — data is retained and you can restore the child later from Archived Children on Home. Archive does NOT delete your account or permanently erase cloud data.
Permanently delete a child (Home screen): Primary parents may permanently erase one archived child from the Archived Children section on Home. Deletion is immediate (no 30-day grace period) and removes that child's profile and all associated server-side data. This cannot be undone.
Delete account (Profile → Account & preferences): Permanently removes your account and associated data, subject to a 30-day grace period. When you schedule account deletion:
- You remain signed in until the grace period ends (or you cancel)
- A pending deletion banner appears on Profile and in Account & preferences with the scheduled deletion date
- You may cancel deletion at any time before the grace period expires
- After 30 days, deletion is final and cannot be undone
Primary parent: After the grace period, we permanently delete your account and household data from our servers, including child profiles, activity logs, wellbeing logs, memories, milestones, AI profiles, and related records stored in Firebase.
Co-parent only: After the grace period, your account is permanently deleted and your access to the household is removed. The primary parent's household, child profiles, and shared child records are preserved.
When your account is deleted we remove your account, your content, and account operational data. A small number of short-lived anti-abuse records (such as rate-limit counters) may persist briefly and expire automatically; these contain no memos, photos, or child information. See the Privacy Policy for details.
Photos stored locally on your device are not removed by account deletion — remove them from your device separately if needed. Account deletion satisfies App Store and privacy requirements for "delete my account and data."
